Spencer - My inspiration to have started all of this.
We are a group of strangers coming together
for the same purpose.  To give our dogs the
chance to be dogs by running in a safe,
enclosed area.  Dogs love to run and chase
each other.  Our dog park will be just the spot
to let dogs be dogs.  To socialize with other
dogs and humans too.  We are doing this on
our own with no financial help from the city and
need to raise funds for the fencing.  So if you
have any spare change lying around and want
to help a good cause, you can send a check or
money order to
City of Attleboro, and mail it to:
Superintendent of Parks, 201 County Street,
Attleboro, MA  02703.
Don't forget to put Dog
Park on the memo line!!!
A way to keep your dog happy and healthy by running
around and not being bored just sitting home looking for
something to do.
Most dogs with regular exercise and socialization tend
not to be barkers, or develop anxiety issues.  A tired
dog is a happy dog.
Monitored by adults to make sure that rules are followed
and the park is safe.
Dogs are social animals and what better way to keep
them socialized than to let them come and play at the
dog park.
There is a section on Dog Park Guidelines that was
passed on to me, it's worth reading and truly makes a
lot of sense to not only letting your dog have fun, but
keeping everyone safe.  Guidelines
One of our biggest hurdles, so far, in terms of time
was to establish the City Dog Park Ordinances.
This was carefully drafted and discussed to provide
a usable park and to protect the City and the people
who will use the dog park.  This was made official
by a council vote and assigned Ordinance Section
#9-45 .  This is available on the City Website under
ordinances  at:
